DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT
Last updated 1 October 2026
This page explains how to delete your account on Gutter (the app "Gutter" by Gutter Comics on Google Play, and thegutter.in) and what happens to your data.
Option 1 — in the app (fastest)
- Log in to Gutter.
- Tap My Profile, then ⚙ Edit profile (or go to thegutter.in/me).
- Scroll to Delete account and tap Delete my account…
- Type your handle (and your password, if you have one) and confirm.
Your account is deleted straight away and you're logged out on every device.
Option 2 — by email
If you can't log in, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with your @handle. We confirm and delete it within 7 days. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child's account the same way.
What is deleted
- Your email address and password
- Google or Facebook sign-in links
- Your display name
- All your login sessions
- For children's accounts: the parent or guardian's email
What is kept, and why
- Your panels inside stories. Comics are made together, and other people's panels build on yours, so your panels stay in their stories. They show your @handle marked as deactivated. Email us if you'd like your handle hidden from them too.
- Your @handle stays reserved so nobody else can use it to impersonate you.
- Server logs and usage records (for security and abuse prevention) are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
- Delete a panel you made while nobody has continued it yet (open the panel → Delete).
- Edit or remove the speech bubbles on your panels.
- Change or clear your display name in My Profile → Edit profile.
- For anything else, email [email protected].
